What information should you have known before you left for your JTA? • That our town just had 44000 people • 1 5-floor mall, movies in German • How to cook • How the train schedule works (internet) • That the 1 minute of walking there does not mean 1 minute of walking in the Philippines joke hahaha • That Steyr is a hilly area (walking up the hill to Porchestrasse is very very tiring)
What did you learn from your JTA experience in your host country? • That people there like to party during weekdays • How people from different cultures see the world differently • Ex. In Denmark, it’s totally normal to have a job when you’re 14 or something. But in the Philippines, we never had a job • Ex. In Denmark, it’s normal to live by yourself when you’re 18. But in the Philippines, we still live with our parents until we’re old • How to read maps (since it’s very easy to get lost) • The importance of being on time (since the trains won’t wait)
What were your most memorable experiences in the JTA? • Disneyland! • Skiing • Auschwitz • Eating gelato in Italy • Watching the Opera in Vienna • International Fair • Spending time with the Filipino family there • When some Filipinos thought that we were prostitutes • Theo 131 with Father Dacanay • And of course, the time spent with our international friends • And many more… too much to mention
