For research, individual candidates must provide at least two and no more than four types of evidence of appropriate research. This may take the form of the exploration of comparable examples but may also include some survey work into audiences/users if wished. The evidence may be presented as annotated comparable products, tables, charts and/or digital presentations.
Higher marks are gained by clear explanations of how the findings have been used in the final production and by using appropriate media terminology to the text. • FOR EACH PIECE OF RESEARCH – be explicit in saying “How will this research help with my final production?”
Level 4 (8-9) • Excellent ability to: • Present findings relevant to the production in terms of textual organisation (genre, narrative, representation), audiences/usersand organisations • respond in a perceptive manner using evidence which is relevant to the chosen media form/genre by exploring other related examples • use appropriate terminology effectively.
Top Level 4 (10) • Sophisticated ability to: • present findings which clearly influence the production and its reception • respond in a detailed and organised manner using evidence which is relevant to the chosen media form/genre by exploring other related examples • use appropriate terminology effectively.
