6. One of the purposes of the Freshman Seminar program is character education with the intent to create a smooth transition from early adolescence to adulthood as a student at Wayne Valley High School.
Students discuss strategies for character development including the following character traits: kindness, integrity, citizenship, determination, responsibility, respect, empathy, justice, leadership, independence, self-worth, curiosity, hard work, courtesy, courage and athleticism.
The art they chose represents these character traits and more. And as they continue to use the website for additional selections, as well as the Timeline of Art History, they will become more comfortable and able to use the information for all of their classes, especially English and World History, achieving success as the whole student.
