  2. Both industrial and medical CT: • Utilize the differential attenuation (intensity decrease) of X-rays • Attenuation is a function of density and atomic number

  3. Industrial differs from medical CT: • Sample rotates between source and detector • Higher energy X-rays • Longer acquisition times • Smaller X-ray focal spots + more densely packed detectors
