Welcome to Kindergarten • Kindergarten Hours: 8:20 AM – 2:20 PM • Children who are bussed to Bryant school are met by staff and directed to their classrooms. • Students who are dropped off by family members can line up on the “Walker/Carpool Line” at 8:20 AM. • Dismissal is between 2:20 – 2:30 PM. All student must be picked up by 2:30 PM.

Attendance • Children must be in school and on time each day. • Our students need to be in school to receive the maximum benefit from classroom instruction and exchange of ideas. • School attendance is required by State law and Teaneck Board of Education policy. • Students are expected to attend school for 180 days of the school year.
Attendance (Continued) • If your child must be absent or late for any reason, please contact the nurse at 201-833-5545. • Remember! Your child’s learning is valued. Tardies result in loss of learning time. • State of NJ monitors attendance/tardies(+6years old)
Specials • The Teaneck schools operate on an A to F day schedule, with each letter representing a different day on which the specials (art, music, etc.) will take place. • Every classroom has a specific A to F schedule that your child will bring home; informing you on which day the class has physical education, music, art, library, or world language. • Depending on the grade level, some specials meet more than once within each A to F rotation. • If a letter day is missed because of a holiday or school closing, the schedule picks up from its last letter day.
Classroom Expectation • Students will develop how to further: • Listen when the teacher and classmates talk • Be kind and respectful to their classmates • Kindness and Respect “OH YEAH”! • Keep hands, feet, and objects to themselves • Raise hands and wait to be called on before speaking • Clean up after themselves
Lunch • Bryant School has a paid lunch program (Sodexho). • School students are required to either bring lunch from home or purchase school lunch until the free/reduced lunch applications are processed and a determination letter is received. • Free/Reduced lunch forms are processed by the district in October. • School Lunch Program
SACC Before-School and After-School Programs • Registration for the Registration for the SACC Before- and After- School program is available at the Teaneck Community Education Center. Early registration for the WRAP half-day program for PreK students is necessary to reserve a place for the 2014–15 school year. WRAP only has 15 places for AM and 15 for PM. • An early registration night is being offered for working families on Wednesday, June 18 from 6:30 - 8:00p.m. at Eugene Field School, 1 Merrison Street. Register on or before June 18 to get a $50.00 discount from your September fee.
Bryant School PTO • Would you like to chair a committee or participate in one? We have lots of openings. • You can do as little or as much as you want. There is something for everyone… whether it be chairing a committee, running an event, translating flyers into Spanish, or working at a book fair for a few hours. We know not everyone can get to the school, so there are plenty of projects you can do from home too. Getting involved helps you to get to know the Bryant community and your children enjoy sharing the experience with you. It also helps to show our children that community matters!
