LAKE Constance – Important Tourism Destination • Ca. 10 million overnight stays per year • Average of 5,5 days per vacations • Ca. 27 million of day trippers per year • 85 % of tourists arrive and travel by car • 55.000 registered boats (2/3 sailing boats, 1/3 motor boats • 42 % of the lake shores is urbanized • Only 28 % of the lake shore is still in natural conditions • Tourism grow from 2009 to 2010 = 4,2 % • => 350 million of Euro gross turnover per year / 15.000 full time jobs • (only German part of the Lake Constance region!)
