MUN • A model of the United Nations • Has the goal of reaching world peace • Focuses on working with others and solving international issues • Delegations represent a country and its position on a specific issue(s) • Delegates (you guys!) work with other delegates (HS students) from around the nation/world to solve international issues

General Information • Model UN Club meets every Thursday in J4 (here…) • As conference nears, we will be holding after school meetings on a day that is best for the majority of members • Dues: $10 for the year • Tentative Conferences: UCLA in the fall (low cost); Boston in the spring (higher cost) • You can work alone or with a partner

  6. General Information (cont.) • MUN T-shirts: only $15! • Keep in mind that this club is A LOT OF WORK...there is homework, and there are deadlines (many, many deadlines) • It is pertinent that these deadlines are met and that all members are dedicated • IT IS ALL WORTH IT!

  7. For this club, you will need… • A 3-ring binder with folders • A notebook (preferably with folders) • Dividers • Writing utensils (sticks) • On occasion, a computer • Commitment and responsibility to the group! • Swag

  8. Fundraising In order to lower trip costs, MUN will need to do extensive fundraising...any ideas? • Food sales • Restaurant nights • Various activities • Donations are always welcome (:
