Welcome to Pod 3. Mrs. Bauer Mrs. Brosky Mrs. Walker. Middle School is different…. We don’t keep anything in our desk - only in our locker. The school runs on a day 1 through 6 cycle, rather than a Monday through Friday cycle. Every Friday is Spirit Day - wear green and gold for a reward!.

  2. Middle School is different… • We don’t keep anything in our desk - only in our locker. • The school runs on a day 1 through 6 cycle, rather than a Monday through Friday cycle. • Every Friday is Spirit Day - wear green and gold for a reward!

  3. LUNCH • Lunch money goes directly to the cafeteria - not to the homeroom teacher. • During recess or lunch and recess your teachers may ask you to come up to the classroom to: • Make up absent work. • Complete unfinished homework. • Work with the teacher for extra help. • Sit for inappropriate behavior. • You may also come up on your own during lunch and recess for: • Study help with the teacher. • Study help with your friends.

Moving Around • To use the lavatory or see the nurse during class you must fill out your assignment book and have the teacher sign it. • If you would like to work with another teacher in the school during 9th period you need to have a pre-signed yellow pass. You must get this BEFORE 9th period. • To go the IMC during 9th period you need a signed yellow pass from your teacher.

  7. What if I am absent? • Bring your excuse to the attendance area in the Cafeteria - not your homeroom teacher. • Make sure you visit your teachers the day you return to schedule make-up work and tests. This is YOUR responsibility. • Parents may call or email us for work so you do not get behind. • Check the website for your missed work. • A homework buddy is great too! Pick a dependable student in our pod to get your homework and deliver it to you.

  8. School Fun • PEZ: a pod reward you can earn daily! These can be redeemed for school tools and prizes. • PAWS: a school reward - you can earn an extra gym (aka: dogpound) and special rewards throughout the year like bowling. • Homework Party: Do your homework and come party with us!

  9. Being Prepared • Make sure you have sharpened pencils for every class period. (You can buy pencils from your teacher during homeroom for only 3 PEZ each!) • Make sure you always have a book to read. • Make sure you always have your class textbook, folders/binder/notebook, and homework.

  10. Yes…there will be homework • Homework will be factored into your grade. • It must be with you at the beginning of class. You cannot go to your locker at the beginning of class to get it. • You can get homework help during recess or 9th period. • Phone a friend. • Check the website daily for homework assignments.

  11. 9th period • Band, chorus, and orchestra take place during 9th period. • Day 5 is team time when ALL students will remain in the pod. We will run class meetings and PSSA prep classes. • Study halls will also take place during 9th period. All students are expected to complete work, study, or read a book during study halls.

  12. Notes • If you are leaving early please take the note to the office during homeroom. • If you plan on going home with another student on a different bus, BOTH of you need a note. You are to take the notes to the office during homeroom.

  13. A last thought… • Please approach your teachers if you have any questions, problems, or need help with anything. We are here to help you be successful in middle school!
