Florida Evacuates • New evacuation website under development. • County/State input will be requested early 2011. • Site provides turn by turn directions to closest shelters from current location, if shelter is open. • Hotel availability will be added in the future. (FRLA) • Weather/current disaster, evacuation orders, etc. will be provided on the site. • Website will be PDA friendly and usable from desktop computers as well. • Operational on IPOD and Blackberry Platforms.
Use of Web 2.0 Applications • DEM is now utilizing multiple Web 2.0 applications to disseminate information to the public, media and emergency management community.
