  2. ROME Rome is the capital city of Italy, with 2.7 million inhabitants. It is located in the plane of Lombardia. Rome enjoys a Mediterranean climate. Rome was founded by the twins Romulus and Remus on April 21, 753 BC. Rome was the capital city of the Ancient Rome Imperium.
