SIS Pledge We are Suwannee Intermediate School citizens. We are responsible for what we say and do. Today and every day, we will be respectful, cooperative, and strive for academic excellence. We are a part of the team. We will respect ourselves, others, and the environment, even when no one is watching.

School-wide Student Expectations
Transition Expectations • Face forward in the direction you are traveling in a single file line. • Walk. • Voice Level 0 • Keep hands by your sides. • Walk on the right side. • Stay two feet away from the wall (use the paw trail). • Follow these expectations even when you are not with your class. • Have a pass if you are not with an adult.
AM Arrival Expectations • Enter building following transition expectations. • Students arriving early (7:30 to 7:45) – report directly to cafeteria. • Students arriving after 7:45, report directly to cafeteria.
Cafeteria Expectations • Sit in the order you exit the serving line. • Talk only to other students in your immediate area using voice level 2. • Stay seated and raise your hand for help. • Keep your area neat and pick up trash when dismissed. • When dismissed, follow all transition expectations. • Do not take food items out of the cafeteria.
Cafeteria Guest Policy • Restaurant food may be brought in for the visiting parent and their child only. • All guests must eat on the stage • Each guest may have their child only on • the stage for lunch. • Parents must leave when student’s lunch time is over, unless prior arrangements are made with the teacher.
Bathroom Expectations • Sign in and out in classroom • Must have bathroom pass worn properly around neck. • Use voice level 1. • Take no longer than two minutes in bathroom. • Wash hands only. • Safety first! • Report all problems to an adult immediately. • Individual bathroom visits are for emergencies only.
Outside Expectations • Stay in designated areas. • Keep hands and feet to yourself. • Safety First! • Use equipment properly and return to teacher. • Report all accidents or injuries to an adult immediately.
Dismissal Expectations • When dismissed, go directly to your bus or pick up area • At pick up area, stay seated and wait for your ride. • Use voice level 2. • Quickly move to your car when it arrives.
Assembly Expectations • Enter following transition expectations. • Sit in the order you enter assembly. • Voice Level 0 unless told otherwise by presenter. • Stay seated and raise hand for help or to participate. • Wait for teacher to dismiss and direct the class. • When dismissed, follow all transition expectations.
Parent Expectations • Ensure your child arrives at school on time daily. • Play an active role in your child’s education. • Support the school’s rules and expectations of the students. • Provide the time needed at home to support your child’s academic program. • Send your child to school prepared to learn. • Treat all citizens of SIS with respect.
Parents Rights • Expect the school environment to be safe and secure. • Expect the school to provide a meaningful educational opportunity. • Receive information concerning their student’s individual needs. • Respectful treatment by all SIS Citizens.
Tiered Behavior System
Tier 1 Behaviors • unnecessary physical contact • mild insubordination • mild inappropriate • language/gestures • not following school wide • expectations • classroom/lunchroom disruption • not following • transition expectations • incomplete class work/homework
Tier 1Consequences • consequences designated by classroom management plan • Citation from: • special area teachers • duty personnel • lunch room personnel • Three (3) Tier 1 citations per day = Tier 2 consequence
Tier Behaviors 2 • moderate or repeated insubordination • moderate or repeated inappropriate language/gestures • inappropriate body contact/horseplay • repeated unnecessary physical contact • intimidation • instigation • physical threat • repeated Tier 1 behavior
Tier 2 Consequences • Parent contact by teacher discretion (ie: note, phone call) • Lunch Detention after second (2) Tier 2 offense • Three (3) Tier 2 citations per week = Tier 3 consequence
Tier 3 Behaviors • extreme or constant insubordination • extreme or constant inappropriate language/gestures • fighting or injurious acts with malicious intent • PDA (Public Display of Affection) • unacceptable physical contact (sexual in nature) • physical threat with malicious intent • repeated Tier 2 behavior
Tier 3 Consequences • Written Referral to office • After five (5) Tier 3 offenses, student is referred to the Child Study Team.
Paws Expectations • Complete Homework • Bring/use agenda daily • Be in class and on task • Be prepared with materials and supplies • Follow transitions and hallway expectations • follow school wide expectations • come to school daily • No Tier 3 offenses in a 9 weeks • Remain on the list after school wide teacher approval
PAWS Rewards Each student is eligible for one (1) PAW daily with the possibility of earning 3 extra per week for a total of eight (8) per week. These PAWS will be recorded on a standard chart in their agenda which will be used as the entrance ticket to the PAWS Party.
PAWS Rewards • The Bonus PAWS (3 per week) are at teacher discretion. • Perfect PAWS students will be recognized on a bulletin board in the school (72 PAWS). • 45 PAWS are required to attend the PAWS Party. • 65 and above will receive extra reward/privileges at the PAWS Party ie: VIP Status.
NOTICE: You will be excluded from the PAWS Party if... • You have any Tier 3 offenses in a 9 weeks. • Your name is removed from the school-wide teacher approval list.
PAWS Parties • November 4th – Social with DJ • February 3rd – Auction • April 7th/8th – Dodge ball Tourney • June 8th – Teacher Talent Show
