Limericks are short and no great talent is necessary to compose one - Limericks are a form of poetry that everyone feels happy to try! You’ll see!  How to write a limerick:

  3. Limericks are meant to be funny They often contain hyperbole, onomatopoeia, idioms, puns, and other figurative devices. The last line of a good limerick contains the PUNCH LINE or "heart of the joke." As you work with limericks, remember to have pun, I mean FUN! Hyperbole - Limericks are easy to remember! Limericks are short and no great talent is necessary to compose one - Limericks are a form of poetry that everyone feels happy to try! You’ll see! 

There was an Old Person of Chili,Whose conduct was painful and silly,He sat on the stairs,Eating apples and pears,That imprudent Old Person of Chili.

There one was a man from Peru,Who dreamed of eating his shoe,he awoke with a fright,in the middle of the night,and found that his dream had come true! There was a young hunter named ShepherdWho was eaten for lunch by a leopard.Said the leopard, "Egad!You'd be tastier, ladIf you had been salted and peppered!" A flea and a fly in a flue Were caught, so what could they do? Said the fly, "Let us flee." "Let us fly," said the flea. So they flew through a flaw in the flue. In a castle that had a deep moatLived a chicken a duck and a goat.They wanted to go out And wander aboutBut all they needed was a boat. An epicure dining at CreweFound a very large bug in his stew.Said the waiter, "Don't shoutAnd wave it about,Or the rest will be wanting one too."
