Why use the Algebra Placement Program at SCS? • Algebra is available to more students • More students qualify to take higher level math courses in High School • 8th Grade Enrichment • Students able to progress at their pace
What does Algebra look like at SCS? • Algebra is taught daily • Algebra takes place in the classroom and seminars • APP students participate in follow-up sessions • Algebra is taught by all 8th grade math teachers and is collaborative

True or False Quiz • Algebra is taught in isolation 9 seminars per year. • Students are expected to teach themselves algebra and there is no direct instruction or time for follow up with teachers. • Everyone must stay in the APP program once they have signed up. • APP is the only algebra taught at SCS.
