CPD system – Background Launched 1 August 2011 to support CPD requirements for revalidation 2000 users to date. Register 200 new users per month Available to Consultants and Career Grade Anaesthetists who maintain an RCoA subscription Register online via website Planned demonstrations at events 400 CPD approved courses on the system for ‘look up’ and entry into personal diary
CPD Features • CPD Diary and PDP • Online space to record activity and add a reflective review • Search facilities – search for CPD approved courses by CPD Matrix, subject, dates, location • Personal online resources • CPD activity summaries detailing: • Annual CPD • 5 year CPD • CPD Matrix topics covered • Breakdown of credits gained from internal, external, clinical and non-clinical • Tool to support appraisal

CPD Approval • The online system will also allow course providers to apply for CPD approval online • Approval process based on AoMRC, DoCPD standards and criteria • Online application form for prospective CPD providers • Assessors drawn from specialist societies and examiners • Assessors can review CPD applications electronically • Courses approved for CPD credits will be automatically included in course searches and available for users to include in their diaries • Users can submit optional ‘learning outcomes review’
Phase 2 • Improved reporting tool – clearer reports • PDF print versions • Integration with Equiniti and other online revalidation tools • Future linkage with e-portfolio for trainees and e-LA • Mobile applications • Responsive to feedback - users and CPD providers
CPD Board Representation from the main specialist societies Responsible for QA of CPD approval across specialty Sampling application process and event feedback – i.e were the learning outcomes as stated, met Monitor performance of assessors Review CPD Matrix every 3 years Maintain and review Level 3 CPD for the special interest areas Shared forum for matters related to CPD
