Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad… • Flagship international exchange program • Designed to increase mutual understanding between the U.S. and other countries • Administered by the U.S. Department of Education • 4-6 week trips for 16 teachers in each of six or seven sessions • 4 trips maximum • Congress appropriates money with small contribution by teacher

  10. Fulbright-Hays Seminars Abroad Application Components… • Curriculum Vitae • Discuss your interest in and experience with interacting with other cultures • Discuss why you require greater knowledge of the host countries • Discuss your plan to implement the required curriculum project

NEH: Workshops • National Endowment for the Humanities, an independent grant-making agency for the Federal Government. • Offers Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops for K-12 teachers, librarians, homeschool parents • One-week programs provide direct experiences in interpretation of significant historical and cultural sites • Stipends are $1200 to help cover living expenses, books, and travel
