Homework • Homework will receive a 50% deduction if turned in after due date and a zero if not turned in at all. • Purpose is to reinforce skills • Organized work space, consistent schedule • Spend up to 60 minutes a night in accordance with the district policy • Agendas will be used daily and come home nightly
TutoringThe 6th grade teachers are more than willing to help students when they need extra assistance. Please follow the tutoring schedule below, and have your child report to the 6th grade building at 7:50 a.m. Tutoring is offered for: -extra help completing an assignment or project -absences that need help catching up -homework help Monday (Social Studies/Science)- Mr. Norris Tuesday (Math)- Mrs. Gerson Wednesday (Math)- Mrs. Glessner Thursday (Language Arts)- Mrs. Murray Friday (Language Arts)- Ms. Harman

Tardiness and Attendance • Please make sure your child is at school on time ~ 8:25. Excessive tardiness will be referred to the office for further action. • All tardy students need to check in at the office and head to block. • We understand children get sick, and there are family emergencies, etc. • Please schedule your vacations around the district calendar.
Dress Code Highlights • Hats and sunglasses may only be worn outside • No artificial hair colors or disruptive hair styles, also make-up is discouraged • No obscene, vulgar or inappropriate graphics on shirts • Make sure straps are at least 1 inch wide • Hygiene counts! • For additional information please read the district handbook (i.e. skirts/shorts/tank-tops/flip-flops) • Cell phones must be turned off and kept in backpacks while on campus!
Snack and Lunch • No soda or red beverages in the classroom. • Please make sure that your child has a water bottle each day. • Students will have the opportunity to eat two healthy snacks, provided from home, each day. • Lunch prices are now $2. 50. • Please keep your child’s food account up to date. • Homemade goods (birthdays, holidays, etc.) are not permitted. • Pizza needs to be approved by teacher and cafeteria prior to party date.

Communication • Check your child’s agenda daily. • E-Mail – easiest contact • Homework emails and ALL office emails will come from Mr. Norris. However, please email the teacher if you have a question pertaining to a particular subject. • Voice Mail, Phone calls, Notes home • 6th grade website is now up and running. ALL information, assignments and projects can be found there.
Tax Credit2012– 2013 • Forms and on-line donations can be found on our website. • Now up to: $400 (if you file jointly) $200 (if you file as single) • Funds field trips, activities in classrooms, educational opportunities, such as: science camp, quarter parties, etc.

Art Masterpiece 2012-2013 • This program is a national art enrichment program that is taught at Hull Elementary on an entirely volunteer basis. • Volunteer Art Guides do not have to have a background in art, and most do not. • The lessons cover a wide range of artists and art styles in order to promote art literacy. • Hull has a dedicated art classroom to teach these lessons! • Check out the Art Classroom Today – Room #28

When? Tuesday, March 26th - arrive at camp 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 28th - return to Hull by 2:55 dismissal time

Tax Credit Donations Let the government pay for this experience! Make a tax credit donation and you will get this money refunded to you, in full, when you file your taxes. Married couples: may donate up to $400 Single people: may donate up to $200 Checks made payable to CUSD and put child’s name in memo line and “Science Camp”

There is NO limit on how often you reload, so please don't stop reloading!
