OVERVIEW Strong partnerships with the health care industry, the community, and the institutes of higher education enable the Academy of Health Careers to prepare future health care professionals. Academy seniors may earn a Health Science Portfolio which signifies successful completion of the National Health Care Skills Standards as specified by the Florida Department of Education, United States Department of Education, and National Consortium of Health Science and Technology Education. Academy graduates earn a diploma with specific magnet distinction and medal.
OVERVIEW • The Academy of Health Careers offers a comprehensive rigorous academic program of college preparation and uniquely relevant curriculum for students who plan to pursue a career as a health care professional. • Academic courses are combined with the opportunity to gain the initial “building blocks” of health care through Health Science education.

TRANSPORTATION Buses provided for all students who live 2 miles or more from school. Afternoon activities buses available.
ELIGIBILITY Students who have successfully completed 8th grade and reside in Seminole County are eligible to apply for admission to the Academy of Health Careers. Please don’t forget to APPLY to the CHOICES office!
ACADEMY STANDARDS Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and earn no semester grade below a “C”. Students must demonstrate appropriate behavior. Students must have good attendance.
