  2. Vietnamization • Nixon wants to leave S. Vietnam but he did not want it to become communist. • Americans were training the S. Vietnamese Army • Nixon began a slow withdraw of Vietnam

  3. Peace to Escalation • Peace talks began in Paris in 1968. The US was led by Henry Kissinger-Sec of State. • Secret War: Us expanded the war into neighboring Laos, and Cambodia. • By 1973 the US pull out of S. Vietnam • By 1975 the Communist take control of Saigon

  4. Final Numbers • 2 million Vietnamese dead • 58,000 Americans dead • 300,000 wounded • Total cost of War 150 BILLION.
