Project Implementation Plan Philip Burrows John Adams Institute, Oxford University and CERN Markus Aicheler (Helsinki), Mick Draper (CERN)
Outline • Reminder of CLIC ESU documents • Project implementation Plan ‘PiP’: Review of status Next steps • Author list + acknowledgements
CLIC European Strategy documents • Official short submissions (~10 pages) – due December 18th: 1) CLIC project (accelerator + detector) 2) CLIC physics • Supporting documents (‘yellow reports’): 1) CLIC summary document (~60pp): Accelerator, detector, physics 2) Project implementation Plan ‘PiP’: Accelerator parameters, cost, power, site, staging, construction schedule, summary of main technical issues, preparation phase summary 3) CLIC physics: SM + beyond 4) Detector R&D report • Other supporting documents: CLIC preparation phase 2020-25, physics papers (H, t, BSM …), technical documentation in EDMS etc.
PiP procedure + next steps April 13th: First draft of every section June 15th: Complete draft of every section August 31st: First draft of whole document October 1st: More ‘polished’ draft November 1st: Draft ready for friendly external review December 1st: Final draft for collaboration review December 18th: Submit to ESU process

November 1st: Draft ready for friendly external review prepare official short ESU submissions! December 1st: Final draft for collaboration review submit text for yellow report processing December 18th: Submit to ESU process
Technical issues • Various formats supplied as input (Word, latex, ASCII, pdf!!!) • Whole document translated into Latex and put into Overleaf • Chapter editors and key others have editing rights • Bibliography implemented chapter-by-chapter • Some figures may need updating with better-quality versions • A lot of place-holder figures, tables, numbers which we know will be updated as studies are completed
PiP status • 240 pages (including 20 blanks!) • All chapters received at least one round of top-level editing • Many placeholder figures + tables, to be updated • Everything is there, except: ch. 1 – introduction: do at the end 2.7 – post-collision line: in progress 2.12 – integrated performance: work in progress 5.15 – beam interception devices: steal from CDR 5.16 – beam dumps: steal from CDR ch. 7 – implementation: major update in progress • Harmonisation across sections/chapters – removal of duplication
PiP author list • All those who have contributed to the CLIC study since CDR (2012) • Each institute representative on the Collaboration Board has been asked to provide respective names • Replies from 40 / 60 institutes so far … • Thanks to Roger Ruber (CB Chair) for organizing! • Will also need acknowledgements to funding agencies etc.

Thanks to everyone for your contributions! This is a vital process for making the case for CLIC
