  2. Overview • Responsibilities • Organization • Meetings

Responsibilities • Represent the Region 5 AE Membership. • Paid member of NSBE-AE • Knowledgeable of NSBE governing docs (e.g. NSBE Constitution, By-Laws, AOG, RAOG, etc.) • Attend regional and national conferences and delegate sessions • Communicate with respective chapter before making decisions on behalf of the chapter. For example, • AOG amendment proposals • National & Regional AE elections

Organization • Region 5 AE delegate leadership • elected annually (from among the delegates) to lead region 5 delegates • Speaker of the House • coordinates/leads delegate activities • develop agenda for delegate sessions • coordinate RAEO attendance at delegate sessions • Clerk of the House • maintain copies of delegate records • maintain delegate contact information • maintain copies of all NSBE governing docs

Organization • Clerk of the House (cont) • communicate delegate actions/records to R5AEB Secretary • manage delegate yahoo group • House Committees (rationale) • ensure deeper understanding among delegates • ensure amendment docs are properly prepared and presented to RAEB and/or AEB for review • assist non-delegate AE members wishing to propose amendments • encourage deeper involvement of delegates

Organization • Committee Rules • every delegate shall serve on one or more committees • each committee shall select a chair • no delegate shall chair more than one committee • no delegate holding RAEB/AEB office shall serve as chair • committee shall report its activities during delegate sessions • Governing Docs Committee • prepare delegate amendment proposals • research impact of proposed amendments and report findings

Organization • Senate Liaison Committee • monitor regional/national Senate legislative activity • research impact of proposed Senate legislative activity and report findings • prepare amendments • Resolutions Committee • prepare delegate motions concerning regional opinions and/or directives to RAEB, AEB or other NSBE bodies • coordinate delegate surveys of AE membership • conduct research and report findings

  8. Conference AE Delegate Meetings • AE General Sessions • Delegate Training Sessions • Delegate Legislative Sessions • AEB and RAEB Candidate Q&A • Regional/National Alumni Voting
