Vocabulary • We will be working on vocabulary a lot this school year. • You will be responsible for this as HOMEWORK! • You can use textbooks or the Internet to get your definition….be resourceful.

Practice Problems • When working on math problems it is important to show your work. • This allows me to see your entire thought process but also help you if you get stuck. • If working on practice problems for homework and you get stuck, go as far as possible and then write a little detail about what you are having trouble with.
Turning In Assignments • 1. Make sure your name is on the paper…Top right corner • 2. If it is a piece of notebook paper…label the assignment • 3. All pass papers to the left…I will then collect the papers from the last row of desks
Calculators • Once you have turned in your Calculator Policy sheet, I will give you a calculator number. • This will be your calculator to use every day in class. • You will get it out of the calculator box as soon as you come into class and return the calculators at the end of class.
Flashbacks • The flashbacks in class will be questions from practice ACT exams. • You will be given one minute to work on the problem. • After the one minute I will go over the problem and will have the opportunity to correct your answer if you got it wrong. • You will also write down any shortcuts I may give to help you remember in the future!
Group Projects • Some groups you will be allowed to select who you work with and other times I will select for you. • Each person is graded individually based on the amount of effort they put into the project. • You will be given clear instructions for each assignment and how you will be graded.
Textbooks • We will be using textbooks in class but not everyday. • If you need to take a book home for any reason, you will need to check the book out and then return the book to me the next school day.
Folder Checks • There will be a folder check at the end of each unit. • I will be letting you know what items need to be in your folder throughout each unit. • I will give a slip of paper at least two days before folder checks are due for you to make sure you have all the assignments and have them in the correct order.
