Mini-Collaboratives: a Partnership Effort • Missouri Institute for Community Health • Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services • Heartland Centers for Workforce Preparedness • Missouri Association of Local Public Health Agencies • Ozark Public Health Institute
Scheduled Activities for Fall 2008 • Kick-off Celebration • Vetting the national standards: a statewide meeting • Selection of projects • QI tool training • Keeping in touch with an internet forum and conference calls
Mini-Collaborative Design • Function for 18 months • Mini 1 consists of the Missouri NACCHO grant recipients • Mini 1 will mentor Mini 2 participants and prepare for accreditation • Mini 2 participants will be competively chosen based on application process
Goals for the Mini-Collaboratives • Local Health Departments staff will apply just in time training techniques to internal and external processes and evaluate changes • LHD participants will enter the accreditation pipeline • Quality improvement principles will start to become institutionalized
What about the rest of the state? • MICH e-letter will update on LHD accreditation and PHAB • MDHSS representatives will meet with MICH to discuss state accreditation • MICH annual meeting will showcase QI • MoALPHA annual meeting will include panel presentation on accreditation • Heartland Centers linking workforce competencies to accreditation • Missouri Effective Practices Program going on-line
Lessons We Are Learning Already • Take advantage of synergy • Teams take longer but the results have more ownership • Volunteers are incredible • Set the goals high
