  7. Folk dance can be defined in the simplest words as a form of dance, developed by a group of people, which reflects the traditional life of the people of a certain country or region. Each country in Europe has a unique culture, which is also prominently visible in its various art forms. Almost all the countries have their specific folk music and dance, which proves to be a wonderful way of expression of their community and its traditions. Francesca Mancini eTwinning Ambassador

  10. Istituto Comprensivo "Socrate" Italy Tarantella • Hello! I'm Roberta and I'm in the class 1h. I have been very happy to take part in this adventure, because I think that nothing unites more than music, dance and culture. These three universal values are at the basis of this project, that represents an exciting way to feel united beyond ideological, religious and rational barriers. With eTwinning something magic happened before us: we saw a moltitude of friends of ours, ready to know about us and to let us know all the details about them. In a word, with eTwinning our classrooms have widened, as if by magic, until they have touched and linked with the ones in all the European schools that have joined this project. We are very happy to show you a little part of our culture. To do that, we have dug in our traditions to learn what "Tarantella" represented for Naples in the last centuries and how it was danced. At the end, with all the material and the support of all our teachers, we have realized this video. Besides the dance, here is our love, the joy to communicate and the certainty we have had a unique and unforgettable experience! We hope you enjoy our "Tarantella". Thanks to you all ! :)))

  11. Why would you recommend registering with eTwinning? • eTwinning is the ideal way to find partners from across Europe. As a linguist, eTwinning has provided an excellent opportunity for my pupils to get to know and work with native speakers. eTwinning has alos provided us with opportunities to work on cross-curricular international projects as well. • For the innovative, creativity it brings to the whole curriculum. It is accessible, user friendly, well equipped with on line tools, high levels of support if needed. • Since introducing eTwinning into the curriculum, lessons have become more relevant and inspirational for pupils. Pupils strive to reach high standards of achievement, knowing that their finished work has an audience; think creatively to produce well presented information that will interest others and enhance their communication and language skills through interacting with pupils in another European country.

  12. What benefits has running an international link through ICT brought to your school? • Enthusiastic motivated students • Brought the wider world into the class and provided an opportunity for students to use the languages they studied • A stepping stone to longer term projects • The opportunity for cooperation and friendship across countries and Europe • The main benefits of linking children with their international peers outweigh the non-connected classroom.  An authentic audience, an understanding and appreciation of other cultures, learning from one another, breaking the barriers down of the classroom walls and preparing our children for their globalised futures. • The students have enjoyed project work with their peers across Europe sharing their experiences at home and in school. They have been highly motivated and interested. • Running an international link through ICT has meant that our pupils have been able to work with and have regular contact with pupils from across Europe. They have felt that they really got to know other pupils involved in our projects without the expense and time our of lessons of a more traditional exchange.

  13. eTwinning continues….. To be connective & non bureaucratic To offer recognition To be supportive and offer opportunity for professional development To have built in quality assurance at national and European level in the form of Quality Labels
