SAFE - GRADUATE SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURE, FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT • Organise the PhD education • About 200 PhD students • Enrol ~60-70 pr year • 45% of our students are foreigners • 20% from Europe • 33 countries represented • English is the working language • Provide courses, seminars etc. • Social activities

  4. PhD EDUCATION • 3 year program (180 ECTS) • Admission based on completed MSc • Most PhD students employed by the faculty • Industrial PhD program (the student is employed by a company) • 4+4 PhD program where the MSc is an integrated part

  5. PhD EDUCATION • 3 year program (180 ECTS) • Original research project under supervision • Principal supervisor • Co-supervisor • Project groups • Supervisors approved by SAFE • Training of all supervisors

  6. PhD EDUCATION • 3 year program (180 ECTS) • Original research project under supervision • Courses corresponding to 6 months (30 ECTS) • Scientific courses • Transferable skills

  7. PhD EDUCATION • 3 year program (180 ECTS) • Original research project under supervision • Courses corresponding to 6 months (30 ECTS) • A stay in another research environment • Preferably abroad
