Introduction • Martin Luther King Jr. was the leader of a church and a fighter for equal rights for people of all races. • He fought for equal rights because people all over the country whites and other races had to sit on different parts of the bus. • Dr. King wanted to help all people have equal rights

  3. Early Life • He met kids who were white and they wanted to play with Martin but their parents dragged their kids away from Martin. • He had to go to schools that only had other black children • This made Martin upset because he liked all kids.

  4. Young Adult/Adult • Martin graduated high school and went to college and graduated • He became a preacher • He was part of a group of people who organized meeting to stop segregation

  5. Accomplishments • A woman named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus for a white person. She was arrested and sent to jail. Martin decided to fight for her. • He fought peacefully for her by getting people to refuse to ride the bus • He help buses become desegregated , this was Martin’s accomplishment. • In 1963 Martin helped organize the March on Washington and delivered his famous “ I Have A Dream” speech.
