Thoughts on Teaching • Teaching is one of the most difficult, yet most important careers. • It is not just a career, but a lifestyle. • Teaching is the basis for creating all other professions.
Hints for Success • You will learn something in this classroom every single day, as long as you put in the required effort. • Be respectful of others. • Complete your assignments on time and to the best of your ability. • Be an active thinker and participate in class discussions. • Every question is worth asking. • Don’t hesitate to come talk to me about any problems or concerns you may have.
My Pledge to Students • I will give you my trust. Don’t compromise that. • I will welcome your opinions as long as they are expressed in a respectful manner. • I will do whatever it takes to help you succeed in this class. I would be happy to stay late to provide extra help if needed. • I can’t promise you’ll have always fun or fall in love with the subject, but I will certainly try to make class interesting and entertaining. • “A teacher who is attempting to teach without inspiring the pupil with a desire to learn is hammering on cold iron.” -Horace Mann
