  2. What Are Sentences? • Sentences are complete thoughts. • They have a subject and a predicate. • All sentences start with a capital letter. • All sentences end with an end mark. A B C

  3. What are two types of sentences? • A declarative sentence tells something and ends with a period. • An interrogative sentence asks something and ends with a question mark.

  4. For Example Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had a son. I see this this statement ends with a period, so it is a declarative sentence. What is his child’s name? I see this sentence ends with a question mark and asks a question, so it is an interrogative sentence.
