Success criteria • You will decide as a class what values and aims should be included in our new charter by: • Creating a list of AIMS and VALUES you think are the most important • Creating a list of your rights and how you can respect the rights of others
What values and aims are important • Values help us to make decisions about right and wrong • You are part of the Woodfarm community and you should therefore help to decide the aims and values that are most important to you and the school
In groups make a list of the values and aims you would like to see displayed in the school As a class decide which aims and values from your group list should be included and presented to the Head Teacher 20 minutes to complete! Activity On the next slides are some words to help you get started
You have Rights and Responsibilities Class Discussion • You will be shown a handout with your rights under the UNCRC • Make a list of the RIGHTS you think are the most important in Woodfarm High • Beside each right show what you can do to respect the rights of others • See the next slide for an example
CAN I? Make sure you have made a summary of your class decision • on the AIMS and VALUES • RIGHTS and RESPECT To be included in the charter.
What happens next? • Once the school has collated the information we will create a poster to be displayed in classrooms and to share with the community • You will have agreed to this poster and should therefore demonstrate the values in your personal life and in school
