  6. Testimonies of the Bible A. What does this OT text reveal about the preexistence of Christ? Isaiah 9:6 • It teaches the eternal preexistence of Jesus Christ • Jesus would be called “Mighty God, Everlasting Father.”

  8. Testimonies of the Bible JOHN 1:1-3, 14 • The WORD (Jesus, vs. 14) independently and eternally existed. • The WORD is distinct but equal with God and Father. • The WORD was with God and was God. • The WORD is the Creator. The Word is Jesus.

  13. Testimony of Jesus B. What did Jesus say about His coeternity with the Father? John 8:58 • “Before Abraham was, I am,” “I AM” is the name by which Yahweh revealed Himself to Moses (Exod. 3:14). • Jesus applied this title to Himself, thus claiming His perfect equality with God.
