At the end of the first millennium there were 160 wineries. Alsace's wines were the most renowned and most expensive in Europe in the Middle Ages. Alsace is sheltered from the oceanic influence by Vosges mountains, rthre´s practically the lowest rainfall in France (400-500 mm per year) and there is a sunny, warm and dry weather. This climate is suitable for extended and slow maturing of grapes, which gives the wine an elegant and complex aroma. The grapes come from vineyards in the village Blienshwiller, that the family Kinetz own. The soil is formed by a mosaic of granite, limestone, gneiss, shale and sandstone. This is a late variety, hand-harvesting took place on 25th September 2009. Fermented with controlledtemperature. 5 months maturation in oak barrels on fine lees. Elegant dry wine with lively freshness, very good balance between acidity, fruitiness and mellowness. Persistently aromatic aftertaste. At the first snifting it develops aromas of exotic fruits (maracuja) and, after swirling, hints of citrus and yellow fruits (peach). Fish loaf, marinated raw fish, sushi, crab, shells, scampi… Grilled fish, goat’s cheese, paella, anchovies, smoked fish. Alc/Vol: 12,5 % Sugar: 4 g/L Acidity: 3,8 g/L
