Estampa Viognier Chardonnay 2009 Chile Variety Area of Origin Terroir Vinification Tasting notes Foodpairing Analysis Viognier 85% Chardonnay 15 % Colchagua Valley The name Colchagua means ”valley of small lagoons“. It is bounded by Andes in the west and by coastal mountains along the Pacific Ocean in the east. Horizontal passes alternately bring a fresh breeze from the ocean and mountains. The valley forms the platform in altitude of 200m and rises to the west foot of the Andes. A clear sky without the smog offers the optimum sunlight. The climate is Mediterranean with 4 seasons. Annual rainfall 600mm, large temperature differences between day and night slow down the aging process and the grapes can grow up perfectly. 100% vlastní vinice vysazené r. 1997, jílovito-hlinitá struktura naplavené půdy se sklonem 2-5%. Výtěžnost 9-10tun/ha. Ruční sklizeň a transport hroznů v max. 400kg bednách. Rok 2008 měl chladnou zimu, ale teplý a suchý konec léta. Sklizeň- březen. 100% own vineyards planted in 1997, clay-loam alluvial soil structure with a gradient of 2-5%. Yield 9-10tun/ha. Hand harvesting and transport of grapes in 400 kg bins. Harvest-March. Delicately golden color with green reflections. Aroma with tones of apricot and papaya (Viognier) accompanied by the citrus and green apples from the Chardonnay. In mouth presents the synergy of both varieties with distinctive acidity and freshness. Thanks to it´s acidity it is suitable for all dishes with a slice of lemon as a supplement, it´s medium body pairs it well with creamy sauces and sushi. Alc/Vol: 14% Sugar: 2,6g/L Acidity: 6,0g/L
