What do I need to do to earn 20 service learning hours? • Participate in all class activities pertaining to the project: • Landscape measurement • Landscape design • Researching types of perennials native to Illinois • Manually helping plant perennials in front garden • Manually helping paint the benches with weather resistant paint • Write a reflection paper!!! • Fill out a Service Learning Form and get MY SIGNATURE!

What should be in my reflection paper? • Paragraph 1: Introduce the reader to the project. • Why did we choose to plant in that garden? • Why is this an important project? • Paragraph 2: Describe the process you went through to complete the project What criteria did we have to think about before planting? • Planting depth, spacing, type of plant, amount of sunlight, watering requirements, etc. What types of plants did you plant? • Choose two of the followingand describe them (defining characteristics): • Phlox • Lily of the Valley • Lamb’s Ear • Sedum • Columbine • Paragraph 3: What have you learned after completing this project?
