  1. Champlain Valley Fair Album Burlington photograper James Detore recorded the Champlain Valley Fair in the 1940s and 1950s. Detore was a commercial photographer and a staff photographer for the Burlington Daily News. He documented the social lives and public events of the Burlington area from 1932 until his death in 1969. The Detore collection at UVM consists of approximately 40,000 negatives. The collection emphasizes World War II homefront activities, downtown Burlington businesses and buildings, and activities at the University of Vermont.
