  4. The Tea Party • Claims to be the same movement as the Boston Tea Party • Believes in the U.S. Constitution • Set of Core Beliefs • Fiscal Responsibility • Reduce Taxes • Smaller Government

  5. Common Ground • Opposed taxpayer funded bailouts of corporations • Both believe that special interests play too big a role in government

  6. Opposition • Country is most politically divided since the Civil War • Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street are too far apart • Gun legislation

  7. Conclusion • Differences can be put aside to achieve a common goal
