Parents’ survey • Parents are in general satisfied* with the outlook (93%), taste (95%) and cleanliness (93%) of the lunch boxes • Parents are satisfied* with the overall quantity (91%) and quality (94%) of lunch boxes • Parents are satisfied* with the overall quantity (80%) and quality (83%) of fruits, juices and desserts that accompanied the main meals Satisfied * = Rating 3 or above

Parents’ survey • Parents preferred the frequent supply of fruits > juices > desserts that accompanied the main meals • 96% parents prefer the supply of fruits at least 2 times per week • 75% parents prefer the supply of juices for at least 2 times per week • Desserts: 28% no need, 33% once, 22% twice • Recommendation: Fruits 2-3x, Juices 2x, Desserts 0-1x on a weekly basis

Students’ survey • Students are in general satisfied* with the outlook (68%), taste (67%) and cleanliness (70%) of the lunch boxes • Students are satisfied* with the overall quantity (67%) and quality (68%) of lunch boxes • 57% and 60% are satisfied* with the quantity and quality of fruits provided, while 43% and 40% students are not satisfied. Satisfied * = rating 3 or above

  35. Students’ preference • Students preferred the frequent supply of juices > desserts > fruits that accompanied the main meals • The majority of students (83%) prefer the provision of juices at least 2 times per week • 57% students prefer desserts > 2 times/ week • 56% students prefer fruits > 2 times / week • Fruit quantity is dissatisfied by 43% students and fruit quantity by 40% of students

  36. Recommendations • Provision of accompanying items • Fruits twice per week • Juices twice per week • Desserts no more than once per week • Fruits: • Improve fruit quality • Adjust fruit quantity • Bananas for all grades • Whole fruits for higher grade students e.g. apples, pears
