  3. What is Linkedin? • A business-oriented social networking website primarily used for professional networking. • Founded in December 2002 and launched in May 2003 • As of October 2009, it had more than 50 million registered users spanning more than 200 countries and territories worldwide.

  4. Connections • The purpose of Linkedin is to allow registered users to maintain a list of contact details of people they know and trust in business. The people in the list are called Connections. • Connections, second-degree connections, third-degree connections. • Connections can gain you an introduction to someone through a mutual, trusted contact.
