  3. Mubarak • President • Protesting against him • Talks to the people and makes the government resign • Offers concessions (compromises) • Pro-Mubarak & Anti Mubarak • Refused to step down • Gives power to Vice President • Mubarak resigns (Military is in control)

Mubarak82 years old- 29 years in power GOOD -Increase of political parties in Egypt (24 now) -Modernized economy -stronger military - Encouraged Christian/Muslim relations -more press freedom BAD • Police Corruption • Poverty/unemployment • Government corruption • “state of emergency law” –allows impunity • Impunity= not going through justice system to punish for crimes • KahlidSaeed beating Many corrupt police not punished for crimes (murders) • Unfair campaigns (opposition does not get a fair chance)
