United Nations Global Marketplace - UNGM UNGM brings together UN procurement staff and the vendor community Through UNGM potential vendors can register with 24 UN Agencies that use UNGM as their vendor roster UNGM provides and excellent springboard to introduce your goods and services to UN organizations by completing only one on-line registration process The United Nations represents a global market for goods and services of over USD 15.3 billion annually UN agencies supporting UNGM account for 99.5% of the annual UN procurement volume
UNGM – the UN Global Procurement Portal • Initially developed in the 90’sunder the auspices of the Inter-Agency Procurement Working Group: • To provide vendors with a single point of entry to the UN procurement market • To create a global vendor sourcing portal for the UN procurement system • To consolidate UN agencies’ vendor rosters into one common vendor database • The UNGM has a UN General Assembly mandate to: • Enhance transparency and increase harmonization of procurement practices • Simplify and streamline the registration process for vendors • Increase procurement opportunities for vendors from developing countries • Create one common UN global procurement website • Publish procurement notices, contract awards and other relevant information
UNGM – Quick Facts • UN agencies supporting UNGM account for 99.5%of the annual UN procurement volume (US$ 15. 2 billion in 2012) • 1600 new vendor registrations are posted monthly • More than 25new procurement notices are posted daily • More than 300active procurement notices are on UNGM at any one time • More than 1500UN procurement staff of more than 34 UN or like organisations in more than 196 countries using UNGM
