Graduate Research Fellowship Program  (GRFP) Potential Applicants- Graduate students in their 1st or 2nd year who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees, are US citizens or permanent residents, and do not hold a graduate or professional degree. ( student submits application) Fields- Engineering; Computer and Information Sciences and Engineering; Materials Research Mathematical Sciences; Chemistry; Physics; Astronomy; Social Sciences; Psychology; STEM Education; Learning Life Sciences; Geosciences Number of Awards- 2,000 new fellowships Deadline- November 4th Funding- $44,000 per Fellow tenure year (12-month increments) $32,000 for stipend and $12, 000 for research costs. http://www.nsf.gov/funding/pgm_summ.jsp?pims_id=6201&org=NSF

  10. Travel Awards East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes for U.S. Graduate Students (EAPSI)- Research in science, engineering, and science education, and students are U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Graduate Research Opportunities Worldwide (GROW)- recipients of GRFP award.

EPA National Network for Environmental Management Studies (NNEMS) Fellowship Program Potential Applicants- US citizen or permanent resident having completed at least one semester of graduate or Ph.D. work, or at least four undergraduate courses related to the field of environmental studies Fields- Pursuing an educational program directly related to pollution control or environmental protection and interested in a short term project at an EPA office. Number of Awards- varies, ranges from 9 - 40 Deadline- February Funding- Monthly stipend based on government pay scale

DOE Computational Science Graduate Fellowship Potential Applicants- US citizens and permanent residents in the 1st year of graduate programs Fields- physical, computer, mathematical or life sciences, using mathematical and computing techniques in research, in particular high performance computing Number of Awards- 20-25 Deadline- January 8 Funding- 4 years, $36,000 yearly stipend, tuition and fees, some expenses, 12-week research practicum

DOD Science, Mathematics And Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship Potential Applicants- US citizens 18 years or older with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and willing to work at the DoD after graduation Fields- All STEM fields Number of Awards- 300 yearly- all degrees Deadline- December Funding- Stipend, full tuition and fees, summer internship, health insurance allowance, book allowance Scholarship for Service: Employment placement upon graduation

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship Potential Applicants- U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree Fields- All STEM fields Number of Awards- 200 Deadline- December 20th, 2013 Funding- 3 year fellowship package – stipend, educational costs, and insurance allowance

The NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program Potential Applicants- U.S. citizens and nationals Fields-Fields of study must have a focus on aeronautics-related research such as, but not limited to, air traffic management research and integrated vehicle health management. Number of Awards- 5 Deadline- December 20th, 2013 Funding- 2 year fellowship package with optional 3rd year – $35,000 stipend, $11,000 educational costs, and $10,000 summer internship

Ford Foundation Fellowships Potential Applicants- U.S. citizens and nationals Fields- Research based Ph.D. and non practice-oriented program Number of Awards- 60 predoctoral and 35 dissertation Deadline- November Funding- $20,000 stipend and $2000 tuition and fees to institution for predoctoral. $21,000 stipend for dissertation.

Hertz Foundation Fellowships Potential Applicants- U.S. citizens and nationals at a tenable school* Fields- applied physical sciences: Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Earth and Geo Sciences, Quantitative Biology and Bio-Engineering, etc… Number of Awards- 20 Deadline- Fall Funding- $31,000- $36,000, full tuition, and $5,000 additional stipend for fellows with dependent children. *FSU is not on the list but we need successful applicants to be added to the list
