  2. WELCOME TO MY POWER POINT In this slide show you will be seeing some of the things I have learned during the “Go with the flow” unit. You will be learning about some of my favorite words and how they relate to water. So let’s go to my power point!

  3. Aquatic an adjective that describes anything to do with water. Some people like to play aquatic sports. AQUATIC

  4. There are many different bodies of water in the world. A body of water can be a lake, river, ocean, sea, creek, stream, gulf, bay, inlet, cove, delta, pond, puddle, lagoon, oasis, tide pool, etc… BODIESOF WATER

  5. The elements Hydrogen and Oxygen combine chemically to make water. CHEMICALLY

  6. Drops of water A drop of water can go a long way in Africa where there isn’t a lot of water, so they make bore holes to get water out of the ground. DROPOFWATER

  7. The Earth is made up of 97% water, and almost all of that is salty. Isn’t that amazing!! EARTH

  8. Rivers can flow faster than a speeding train. Where rivers flow over rocks it is called a rapid. FLOW

  9. Most of our fresh water comes from the ground thus it is called ground water. GROUNDWATER

  10. H2O stands for 2 Hydrogen atoms & 1 Oxygen atom. Those elements make up water. HYDROGEN/H2O

  11. The Hopi tribe used irrigation to water their crops because, they lived in a dry region. You irrigate your crops when you put water from a spring into a tunnel that runs into your crops. IRRIGATION

  12. Jerry is a water molecule. A molecule is the smallest part of the substance water. JERRYTHEWATER MOLECULE

  13. Some people like to kayak in lakes. A lake is a body of fresh water that is totally landlocked. KAYAK

  14. The longitude & latitude coordinates for Mackenzie Bay are 69on, 137ow. Longitude & Latitude line are the lines on the globe that run up to down and right to left. One reason that they are numbered is so sailors can find out where they are. LONGITUDE/LATITUDE

  15. Water is always moving. The pattern of its movement is called a current. MOVING

  16. You need water tosurvive. Your blood is made up of about 83% water. NEED TOSURVIVE

  17. Water is the second most essential need to survive after oxygen. Oxygen makes up water though so I guessthey're tied. OXYGEN

  18. One form of water is precipitation. Some types of precipitation are: 1.Snow 2.Sleet 3.Hail 4.Rain PRECIPITATION

  19. Many athletes quench their thirst with water, so a drop of water (instead of a bottle of water) to an athlete would look like disappointment. QUENCH

  20. A river can make a lotof noise. A river is a fast moving body of fresh water. RIVER

  21. A lot of people like to play in snow. Snow is a from of precipitation that freezes once it gets to our atmosphere. It is usually light and fluffy. SNOW

  22. Lake Titicaca is the largest and highest navigable lake in the world. It lies on top of the Andes Mountains. LAKETITICACA

  23. You have to use it (water) carefully because, one day we may not have water. USE ITCAREFULLY

  24. Vapor is the gas form of water. It can only be seen as steam or smoke. VAPOR

  25. Water can stay on Earth for a long time because of, the WaterCycle. The Water Cycle is the endless cycle of water. WATERCYCLE

  26. It is extremely important that you DO NOT pollute our water, or water will be on the base side of the PH scale, when really it should be neutral. We can’t eat or drink bases without getting sick. The PH scale is a scale that has a acidic and basic sides. Everything that we eat or drink is acidic or neutral. EXTREMLY

  27. Some of the steps in the Water Treatment Process are yucky such as the: 1.Filtering Screens 2.Grit chamber 3.Sedementation Tank YUCKY

  28. Zoinks, water has been here since the dawn of time!! There is also no new water on the Earth. Zoinks!
