Working with Machinery Non-mechanical hazards: Sources • Electricity- Exposed wiringand static electricity • Fire and heat - access to hot surfaces, pipes, etc • Hazardous substances (liquid, fume, dust etc) • Handling and lifting • Noise and vibration - people being close to source

Working with Machinery Don’ts: • Never assume a machine is safe • Never overcome guarding or fencing • Never try to access gaps in guards or fencing • Never operate machinery you are not • trained and authorised to use • Never operate machinery while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
