Steps for Creation of County Rural Improvement District (RID) For Road Maintenance • Preparation by Morrison-Maierle, Inc. of a detailed information packet and petition to create a Gallatin County Rural Improvement District • Distributing information packet and Petition to Lot Owners within proposed RID • Obtaining the signatures of 60% of Lot Owners within the proposed RID on the Petition • Holding the first public meeting: Intention to Create a RID • Preparation by Morrison-Maierle, Inc. of the RID Resolution and obtaining Gallatin County Review • Hold the second public meeting: Resolution Creating the RID RID is Created if County Commission determines • the RID is in public’s best interest and • no more than 50% of Lot Owners Protest
