  4. Concrete Poetry • Poetry that takes the shape of the object being described • Can be a collection of words, letters, and symbols

  5. Prewriting Stage • Known as the first stage of the writing process • Used to generate words and ideas for topic

  10. Practice Activity • As a class generate words and ideas about a t-shirt to create a concrete poem • Fill in the class’ graphic organizer as each idea is mentioned

  11. Assessment Activity • A graphic organizer will be given to each student • Students will pull a strip of paper out of a basket that contains a topic • Students will be asked to generate ideas and complete their graphic organizer based on the topic chosen
