You will need to observe in your subject particular forms, shapes, surfaces, patterns and colours to develop a series of simplified, exaggerated, stylized, distorted and abstracted designs. • FOCUS: • SIMPLIFICATION • EXAGGERATION • STYLIZATION • TRANSFORMATION • DISTORION • TASK: After researching and developing a range of images and experimenting with a variety of styles and media to interpret the concept of metamorphosis(your own focus), produce a resolved major artpiece. 5. Folio Development Research: needs to be evident in your folio, do not just print images from the internet. If you wish to include internet images the artist’s name, title, date of production and website should always be included. Artists and art movements relevant to the concept should be researched and documented in your folio. Magazines are fabulous resources for ideas and great to stimulate creativity – use them – we have an enormous collection available. Don’t work in solo use the art practices that precedes you. Trials: (experimentation)good art practice is evident when experimentation is conducted off the main artpiece. All trials of colour mixing, media use, composition, subject matter creation and techniques should be included in your folio.

22. mouse metamorphosisin Traditional Art – drawing submitted January 2007 Anyway, this was for one of my earlier college drawing classes from about a couple years or so ago. It was a pretty fun project. We had to take an object and make a sequential metamorphosis out of it. In this case, I did two. It starts with a computer mouse and splits into two different evolutions, a mouse and a snake (and yes, they're albino). When they've fully evolved, the snake ultimately devours the mouse. (I guess you could say it's a little Darwinian, the whole "survival of the fittest") But then it digresses back into a computer mouse again as you follow the coiling tail. I had fun playing around with the conception of this one.

23. Been working on this all weekend. The marker I used is almost dry now -_- But I think I'm pretty satisfied with the results. Basically a vampire man shifting to his more human-like form.UPDATE: I was actually asked by one of the head people at SFGOTH.COM to use this as their button logo for the 2006 Aidswalk San Francisco. I agreed, since their walk was for a wonderful cause. I even recieved a few of the buttons from them!

25. Artist's Comments This is the over-view of the accordion book I spent more than 34 straight hours in the studio working on. Did I mention I hate etching? I touched up each print a good deal to increase contrast.The metamorphosis is a man standing in a field with a stormy sky to a lighthouse by the ocean with a clear, starry sky. It's symbolic to me; having to do with the tragic death of a friend.I'll post frame by frames soon.
