Division of Information Management Organization • Three main functional areas: • Academic IT (AIT) • Computing and Communications (CC) • Information Systems & Integration (ISI) • A fourth area, Process Management, also had a limited role in Information Management

Robust Wireless • The upgraded JSU wireless network supports the growth of wireless on the campus with improved coverage, performance and reliability. • Robust Network meets mobile generation needs. With increase usage of mobile devices and execution of the iPad initiative, wireless network was improved to run on the latest wireless standard, 802.11n, providing increased transmission speed and throughput. • During the FY 2013 year, the JSU wireless network was expanded to cover all academic buildings on the JSU main campus, off-site buildings and dorms.
Banner Revitalization • An assessment of operation and usage of the JSU ERP System, Banner was conducted during FY13. • Results of the assessment led to the outsourcing of the operation of the Banner system and hosting. • June 2013, Ellucian was awarded a five year $1.4M/yr contract for management and hosting.
Smart Classrooms • Introduced levels of technology for classrooms and labs • Level 4 classrooms introduced in • School of Public Service • Introduced a disruptive technology - the MondoPads • Madison Campus • Athletics • Assessment of all classrooms conducted for future upgrades
iPad Initiative • IT partnered with E-Center & Academic Affairs in the distribution and management of iPads for all 1st time Freshman • Managed “tigerbar” service for iPads in Student Center & provided user support • Distributions during Fall and Spring semesters. • Coordinated Educause Pilot Program on E-Learning with iPads
