  4. Introduction to Human Trafficking • Human trafficking in South Africa is the fastest growing crime in the country and is being driven by poverty. Human trafficking is present in every country in some way but is exploding in poor countries like South Africa • This is not a lifestyle choice for the victims and they are threatened, abducted or forced to commit acts that includes sexual exploitation, forced labor or child labor • These crimes are acts of slavery despite in 1807 The United States and British parliaments passing laws to abolish slavery • Humans lives are being destroyed. There are many innocent and lost children trapped in human trafficking. It is estimated that 1.2 million children are enslaved, drugged and sold for sex globally each year • We are living a world where we don’t know what's going on in our cities or even on our on our own street. There is sufficient evidence to indicate that human trafficking is a serious problem in South Africa • The Human trafficking ring is the world second largest commercialenterprise and generates up of hundreds of millions of dollars

Why is Human Trafficking Important to My Studies? • My major was previously Accounting but I recently changed it to Law and Paralegal studies • My future goal is to become a International Lawyer and help combat the global tragedy that is human trafficking • International lawyers focus on laws presiding over the relations between countries • Human trafficking will definitely be a case I would have to handle in the future. I am delighted to have researched on it

What Types of Folklore are Present in Human Trafficking? • The folklore that is presented in my topic is Customary folklore, human trafficking has been going on for thousands of years and is the modern day slavery.Human trafficking involves one person controlling another and exploiting him or her to do work.

The Effect Of Social Media In Combatting Human Trafficking • Instagram is an online photo-sharing, video-sharing and social networking service that enables its users to take pictures and videos, apply digital filters to them, and share them on a variety of social networking services, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr • My social media source met the intended audiences I was trying to reach. They were many young people commenting and expressing how they felt about human trafficking. I also receive many likes on the pictures. One of Them I got about 30 plus likes. By The information spreading the audience’s, that are interesting could either choose to research more about human trafficking or not. The people that choose not to definitely learned something new from the short paragraph I wrote below the pictures. I strongly believe I fulfill my initial mission because about 60 people like the picture for the message that it was presenting. It made me feel good that 60 new people learn something about human Trafficking.
