habitat • Manatees live in warm water in the United States. It lives mostly in the water along the Florida coast. They travel to Georgia and sometimes they swim to Virginia. They also travel along the Gulf Coast to Texas. They swim to Florida by using the Crystal River. They also live in warm pools of water.
Plant eater • They eat 30 pounds or 13 kilograms each day. A manatee eat greens. A big manatee eats 100 pounds or 45 kilograms they have a manatee salad every day. They gobble plants on land and in the water. They eat seeds and grass. They eat two to three bathtubs of grass each day. It grabs the plant andtiny creatures like worms, leeches, insects, baby crabs, starfish, shrimp, shell fish, and vegetables.
endangered • Manatee are in endangered because people pollute and motor boats cut manatees. Sharks and people hurt manatees. They’re endangered because they swim close to the surface. They are an easy target for meat hunter s in Mexico and the Caribbean. Manatees are in danger to become extinct . The Government protects sea cows. There are signs that warn boats when there is amanatee area .
