  2. What it Looks Like They look like walruses. They look a little like mermaids. They look a little like you would call them sea cows.

  3. Where it Lives It lives in Florida. Manatees live near the Amazon. It lives in Antillean. Manatees live in West Africa.

  4. What It Eats • It eats sea grasses. • It eats water hyacinths. • Manatees eat some types of algae. • They eat water hydrilla. • Florida manatees eat mangrove leaves. • West African manatees eat fruit that falls in the water.

  5. What are Other Behaviors • Manatees are very slow. • Manatees always are nice to humans. • They will play with other manatees.

  6. Interesting Facts • They are endangered species. • To prevent this, they have a manatee sanctuary. • Or they have a manatee boaters certificate when you buy a boat, you donate a $1.00 to help save the manatees.
