  2. Call Program From PAF Under the Tools marker on the Menu bar Only Family Insight and/or Ancestral Quest access the PAF database directly We will look at FamilyInsight. click

  3. Start Screen for FamilyInsight FamilyInsight loads your PAF database into their Program. The Synchronize is the only option that looks at the newFamilySearch LDS ordinances. click

  4. Login This is the Login for newFamilySearch. click

  5. Records to be Displayed All records or just records that Need Ordinances. click

  6. Find the Record You Want The first thing FamilyInsight does is check locations for standardization. Yellow indicated a nonstandardized location. Sort by is use to find the record. I use RIN # to find the record. The Search Icon starts the lookup into newFamilySearch. click

  7. FamilyInsight and Standardized Locations With the combinations of look ups, the location of other records are also scrutinized. You need to look at the location that will be used. select OK after selecting the Standardized location. click

  8. Completion of Search Yellow indicator for records that match greater than 50% of your data. Have to decide if there is a match or not. click

  9. Decision Time Select the first yellow record. Not A Match and Match are now available. Your data is on the left and the combined records that make up this entry in NewFamilySearch is on the right. Look at Name, Birth and Death similarities. Scroll down to see more data. click

  10. More to Compare Looks like same Wife Looks like same Parents Select – Match click

  11. Next Decision Select the next yellow Status line. Compare the Name, Birth and Death data. Wife looks the same – but mark as Not A Match Why? We are looking for LDS Ordinances and there are none here that were not also on the first record. click

  12. Ready to Synch With the two decisions made, the Ready to Sync next to the primary record now shows up. Select the original record – Ready to Synch What is green will move over onto your record. Unless you specify you want to do something different, ignore means that data will not be moved over. click

  13. Move over good Data Click on the down arrow of the line you want move over into your record. You can replace your data or you can add the data as another birth event and that keeps both birth dates. click

  14. Scroll Down Don’t forget to scroll down to get other data you need. I had to change the Ignore with the Associated with the Marriage to Match with MRIN 23880. Then the marriage and sealing information becomes available. Red lettering for wife is because I haven’t synced her with newFamilySearch yet. Originally the sealing to spouse was 16 Apr 1999 (green). Changed to Ignore and changed the Ignore 15 May 1931 to Add. Scroll down more to see the parent’s data. click

  15. Get All the Data As with the marriage, I changed the Ignore to Match with MRIN 21879. Parents are red because they are not synced. And I changed the Sealing to P from the first to the last entry. Now that you have indicated what you want to move to your record, select the Sync symbol at the top. The data is move to your record. Continue onto other persons you want to check for LDS ordinances. click

  16. Search With No Matches When there are no matches on newFamilySearch, the ability to add your data to newFamilySearch is made available. This is Data from someone your are helping to see if temple work has been done, DO NOT ADD THEIR DATA. Record the name and RIN as ready for Temple Ready. But remember to Save your work because the data is in FamilyInsight’s program and not in your PAF database. click
