Super Seven • Each class will start with Super Seven • Super Seven is a list of 7 questions that will help you be a better reader, writer, and overall student! • Keep all your Super Sevens in your binder under the tab Super Seven. • Super Sevens will be graded each week for completeness and neatness.
Homework • Read for at least 20 minutes each school day, or at least 5 days a week. • Fill out a reading log in a notebook that details your reading each day. • Reading log will be graded each week for correctness, completeness, and neatness. • Because this is the only homework for the year, it is important and should be taken seriously.
Book Reports • Each student will complete one book report per marking period. • 1st marking period will be used as an example for future book reports—each student will read and report on Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli (we will read the book together in class). • 2nd marking period—biography book report • 3rd/4th marking period—to be determined.
Silent Reading Books • Students will go to the library during English class every two weeks to renew, return, and check out silent reading books. • Students will be expected to bring their silent reading book to all classes.
Students of the Week • Every week, one student from each class will be chosen to be my Student of the Week. • Students will be picked based on behavior in class. • Students of the week will help me take attendance, gather materials for absent students, start music, display Super Sevens questions, etc…
